    Founding Partner

    The inspiration to launch Macoto Collective came to Colton through conversations with hundreds of entrepreneurs over two decades as a private equity investor, including as a co-founder and managing director of Mountaingate Capital. He has completed over 30 investments in entrepreneur-led businesses and has chaired the boards of four platform companies, with exits totaling over $3bn in enterprise value. Colton co-leads Macoto’s management-led recap practice and operations as an independent sponsor. He makes his home in the Gallatin Valley of southwest Montana, which—according to local history—was known as “Many Come Together Country” before Lewis and Clark passed through the area in 1805.

    Mike has over three decades of experience in digital, media, marketing, and professional services across all stages of company growth. He's worked with tech startups, independent private equity-backed firms, and global public companies – through a dozen acquisitions and successful exits worth more than $1 billion. Along the journey from five to 5,000+ people, Mike learned how to help entrepreneurs scale their organizations, build high-performing teams, implement structures and planning frameworks for growth, seamlessly integrate companies, and increase the value of their enterprises. Mike leads Macoto’s Independent Director advisory practice. He is based in Toronto, the fastest growing market for digital talent in North America.

  • Nathaniel Naddaff-Hafrey

    Managing Partner

    Nathaniel’s experience is in building and commercializing technology. He has held roles including first business hire, sales leader, and co-founder/CEO across multiple VC-backed startups, and has pre-product and public company operating experience. Nathaniel also worked as an investor at Founder Collective, a seed fund backing companies like Uber, Cruise, PillPack, and the Trade Desk. He spent 2016 to 2022 at Google, first leading a partnerships team and then serving for four years in Google Labs (Area 120) as a Founder-in-Residence and GM. Nathaniel leads Macoto’s Incubation & Acceleration work and co-leads our management-led recap practice. He is a die-hard Bostonian who now lives in the Bay Area.

  • Nicole Gregory

    Client Success

    Nicole has nearly fifteen years of experience in program and client management, partnering with Fortune 500 companies to transform their businesses across marketing, media, digital, and technology. Graduating with a BS in Management from Georgia Institute of Technology with a dual focus in Psychology, Nicole utilizes her passion for relationship building and human-focused design to help train executives and their businesses toward focused growth. At Macoto, Nicole operates inside our Independent Director practice. She is currently pursuing her Executive MBA at The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and resides in Atlanta, GA, with her husband and two daughters.

  • Drew Linsley

    AI & Deep Learning

    Drew has spent the last decade working to reverse-engineer biological intelligence with deep learning, and using these insights to develop artificial intelligence systems that can change the world. His experiences have cut across academic and industry lines, working as an Assistant Professor at Brown University, a co-founder and CEO of a biotech, and an advisor to technology companies. Drew’s work at Macoto is in our Incubation & Acceleration practice, as he is passionate about creating state-of-the-art technologies that transform industries. He lives in the Boston area.

  • Tricia Powell

    Financial Governance

    Tricia has worked as Chief Financial Officer, Interim CFO, and advisor within founder-led, privately held, private equity backed, and publicly traded companies. She enjoys building finance, accounting, and operations teams, creating and implementing core FinOps processes, and training business leaders to strengthen the sustainability of a business’s financial success.  Her M&A experience includes buy- and sell-side diligence, integration, and financial/operational carve-outs. Tricia works within Macoto’s management-led recap practice. She splits time between her hometown of Chicago, snow-birding in Florida, and RVing in between. 

  • Bobby Mcquaid

    Vice President

    Bobby’s experience is in private equity investing and M&A. He most recently worked at New Mountain Capital, where he evaluated investment themes, partnered with portfolio company management teams, and executed multiple platform and add-on acquisitions across defensive growth sectors. Prior to New Mountain, he worked in the TMMIS group at Canaccord Genuity, where he supported middle-market digital services companies with M&A and capital raising advisory services. Today, Bobby focuses on Macoto’s management-led recap and independent sponsor work. He is based in New York.
